The re-polling in two centres in Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) election is going on peacfully.
Both BNP and Awami League have expressed satisfaction with the environment of the re-election.
Voters are casting their votes with great enthusiasm to elect the mayor of Sylhet City Corporation.
However, voting at the two polling centres began started off slow as there was heavy rain since the morning.
But after the rain stop around noon, the voters began to cast their votes with much enthusiasm.
The re-election in the two centres of the SCC election is being held as the Election commission suspended voting in those two centres due to irregularities during the city polls on July 30.
The polling began at 8am on Saturday, and scheduled to continue till 4pm.
There are 4787 voters under these voting stations.
Eagerly awaited voters were seen in the queue in Gazi Burhanuddin Government Primary School and Hobinondi Government Primary School centers in the city.
Besides police, Rab and Ansar members, two platoons of BGB have been deployed in the polling stations to keep the situation under control.
On July 30, after counting 132 centres vote out of 134’s, BNP mayoral candidate Ariful Haque was ahead of his main competitor Awami League candidate Badruddin Ahmed Kamran by 4,626 votes.
