A Dhaka court has denied remand petition by police and allowed them to interrogate actor and model Kalyan Corraya at the jail gate for three days after rejecting Kalyan’s bail plea in hit-and-run case that injured chief photojournalist of Bangla daily Prothom Alo on Monday night.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mazharul Haque passed both the orders on Wednesday.
Earlier, Kalabagan police sought three-day remand for Kalyan in the morning.
On Monday night, injuries were sustained by photojournalist Zia Islam when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a speedy private car in front of Bashundhara City shopping complex in Dhaka’s Panthapath area.
The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Later, he was shifted to Apollo Hospitals on Tuesday.
On Tuesday noon, Security Manager of Prothom Alo Major (retired) Sazzadul Kabir filed a case with Kalabagan Police Station against Kalyan Corraya.
