The National Moon-Sighting Committee is expected to decide the day of Eid-ul-Fitr after a meeting on Friday.
Islamic Foundation released a statement in this regard on Wednesday.
In the statement, the Foundation said that the committee will review reports of sighting of the moon for the month of Shawwal on Islamic calendar at the Islamic Foundation on Friday evening.
After that, a meeting will be held with Religious Affairs Minister Matior Rahman in the chair.
In the statement, the Foundation also requested the people to inform the committee if the moon is sighted by dialing 9559493, 9559643, 9555947, 9556407 and 9558337 or sending fax to 9563397 and 9555951.
As of now, the public holidays for the Eid are fixed on next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
However, the Eid holidays will be extended by a day to next Monday if Ramadan lasts 30 days.
