Myanmar has expressed its interest to work more closely with new Bangladesh government in addressing common challenges for the mutual benefits of the two countries and peoples.
Myanmar’s President Win Myint on Tuesday greeted Prime Minister Hasina on the landslide victory in December 30 national elections.
Putting emphasis on the areas of mutual benefits, the Myanmar president said, “Notwithstanding the challenges facing our two countries, I believe that, through our joint efforts based on genuine goodwill and good neighbourliness, the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Bangladesh can be nurtured strengthened.”
President Myint in a congratulatory message to the premier, extended his best wishes for the continued economic development, peace and prosperity of Bangladesh during her third consecutive term, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her reelection in the country’s 11th national polls.
The Vietnamese premier greeted his Bangladesh counterpart and expressed his firm belief that Bangladesh will acquire more achievements in the cause of national construction and development under your able leadership, said a foreign ministry message sent to media.
He also said his government is interested to continue working closely with present Bangladesh government to further promote the friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
