A Malaysian national, along with 10 gold bars worth Tk 2.74 crore, was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the early hours on Sunday.
The arrestee has been identified as Looi Koon Hong, 33.
He travelled by a flight of Malindo Air that landed at the airport around 1 am, said Dr Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Director General of CIID.
On secret information, a team of CIID took position at the green channel of the airport and challenged Koon Hong.
Later, they recovered four gold bars, weighing 1 kg each and 6 gold bars, weighing 1.48 kg from the shoes of the accused.
