Tangail-4 independent candidate Abdul Latif Siddiqui fell sick as he has been continuing his fast unto death for the second consecutive day today demanding withdrawal of Tangail’s Kalihati Police Station’s officer-in-charge.
A two-member medical team led by Tangail Civil Surgeon Dr Sharif Hossain visited Latif Siddiqui around 11:00am and requested him to get admitted to a hospital.
But he refused to go to the hospital or taking any saline. “I’ll not withdraw my strike until my demands are met,” he said.
He started a sit-in on Sunday on the Tangail returning officer’s office premises demanding the arrest of those who attacked his motorcade on that day.
Later on Monday, he began a fast unto death also demanding the withdrawal of Kalihati Police Station’s officer-in-charge and a peaceful electioneering environment.
