The High Court has set Sunday for hearing a bail petition filed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a case filed in Comilla over an arson attack on February 3, 2015.
An HC bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman fixed the date on Thursday.
Khaleda filed the bail petition with the High Court through her lawyers in the case on Tuesday last.
According to the case statement, eight people were killed in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla district during a movement enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
After the incident, three cases – one for killing, one under the Explosive Substances Act and the other under the Special Powers Act – were filed with Chouddagram Police Station against Khaleda Zia and several top BNP leaders.
