The High Court is set to hold hearing tomorrow on a writ petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia challenging the legality of the government’s decision to take her back to the jail from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Today, the HC bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil fixed 2:00pm tomorrow for hearing the petition.
Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali, the principal lawyer for Khaleda, prayed to the HC to hold hearing on the petition.
The BNP chairperson submitted the petition on Sunday through her lawyer Barrister Nawshad Jamir, also praying to the HC to order the government to send her to a specialised hospital for treatment.
Khaleda said in the petition that the government has taken her back to the jail without completing her treatment at BSMMU, which is a violation of her fundamental rights.
