Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday said her government has amended the constitution to safeguard people’s voting right for consolidating democracy.“We want to build Bangladesh as a democratic and peaceful abode,” she said at a public meeting.We will never give single kind of opportunity to anyone to play with our people.
The Prime Minister, who arrived here to inaugurate the much-expected Teesta Bridge, was addressing a public meeting at Collectorate Ground in the afternoon.
“Bangabandhu has given you independence, and I’m giving you commitment for bringing economic freedom and building a poverty-free Bangladesh,” she said, adding: “I need your support and cooperation in materializing the dream”
