Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the government is not interfering in the trial of August 21 grenade attack case.
“It is the court which will take decision on who was involved in the killing. Our judiciary is independent. We have no interference in this regard,” said the minister while talking to reporters at Patenga in Chittagong.
Quader went to Chittagong today to inspect the ongoing construction work of a tunnel under Karnaphuli River.
Mentioning that the brutal attack took 22 lives, Quader said, “The whole country knows that the attack was carried out with the planning of Hawa Bhaban.”
The AL leader said, “Many leaders of BNP are likely to be found involved in the grenade attack,” adding that the BNP cannot avoid its responsibility regarding the grenade attack.
About the construction work, the minister said 24 percent of it has been completed.
