The government has decided to celebrate elaborately on March 22 as Bangladesh has graduated from the group of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) category.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also be accorded a mass reception for her success in the country’s graduation from LDC Status to developing one, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan while talking to reporters at his ministry on Thursday.
“The Prime Minister earlier announced that she will change the country. She did not break her promise. Country’s graduation from the LDC status now awaits a formal announcement,” the home minister said.
On the occasion, the government will display development works by different ministries at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) and hold joy processions across the country on March 22.
The government will also host the Service Week from March 22 to 26.
Mass people, including government officials across the country, will join the jubilant procession, he said.
Replying to a query from a reporter, the minister said his ministry will beef up security measures across the country for smooth celebration of the achievement.
In response to another query over the arrest of fugitive accused of BDR carnage case, Asaduzzaman Khan said all the fugitive accused in the case will be arrested after tracing their whereabouts.
