Google has started assigning randomly selected colours to Assistant’s voices. This new update will be available to all users in the US starting this week.
Each voice on Google Assistant has been assigned a colour on random basis, The Verge reported. Google Assistant has female and male voices to choose from. The reason behind randomly assigning colours is said to avoid association of any colour of a certain gender or intonation.
At present, Google presents the list of Assistant voices with number starting from one to eight. These voices are also listed in a horizontal manner.
However, the new update will change the layout of Assistant voices. Users will be able to scroll through from left to right in a carousel layout. The new update looks more visually appealing too.
Google announced new features to its Assistant earlier this year at I/O. Google Assistant received six new voices including the popular John Legend’s. Google also said that it has been working on newer and more life-like version of its spoken AI that features natural voice that is “closer to how humans speak”.
The improvements include more natural pauses “that have meaning” and other subtleties to help create a “more natural dialogue” with Assistant.
