Former Awami League law aker(reserved seat) of 9th parliament Saleha Mosharraf breathed her last at Faridpur Diabetic Medical College Hospital last night after prolonged illness originated from cancer.
She was 66.
Saleha Mosharraf was also elected law maker in the 7th parliament (Faridpur-4) for some time following the death of her husband Advocate Mosharraf Hossain, a valiant organizer of liberation war and law maker of that constituency since 1970.
Advocate Mosharraf died in 1999 and after his death Saleha Mosharraf was elected in the by-election.
Saleha Mosharraf, a lady with amiable disposition and good manners used to lead a very simple life. She left behind three sons and two daughters and a huge number of friends, admirers and relatives to mourn her death.
Immediate after death her body was brought to her Jhiltuly residence of the town where thousand of mourners comprising people of all sects, political beliefs and local officials thronged there to pay their last tribute.
Her body has been sent to Charbhadrasan upazilla where the first Zanaja will be held. Then it will be taken to Sadarpur upazilla for second Zanaja and will be returned back to Faridpur town where the third Zanaja will be held at Alipur square. She will be buried at Alipur graveyard.
Meanwhile Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury MP, Overseas Employment and Expatriates Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain MP condoled the death of their long time colleague Saleha Mosharraf. They expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family of late Saleha and prayed to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the departed soul.
