The Election Commission (EC) has announced that no candidate can spend more than Tk 10 per voter during campaigning for the upcoming National Election.
The Commission made the announcement on Friday.
The EC has also fixed that a candidate can spend a maximum amount of Tk 25 lakh for campaigning.
Issuing a pressnote, the government has said that the rate was fixed based on Article 44(B) of Representation of the People Order (RPO) 1972.
According to Article 44(B) of RPO 1972, the budget of a political party for a nominee and the election expenditure of the nominee combined has to be within Tk 25 lakh.
Election Commission is expected to open the campaign field within Monday, after completing all official decorum.
The 11th parliamentary election is set to be held on December 30, 2018.
