Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, BNP’s mayoral candidate in Rajshahi City Corporation election, has filed a case seeking to scrap the result of the latest city polls.
Bulbul’s lawyer on behalf of him filed the case with the election tribunal on Thursday.
In the case, the BNP leader alleged that the ruling Awami League men had occupied the polling centres and exhausted the ballot papers before voting had ended.
Bubul’s lawyer said the judge took the case in cognizance after a hearing.
In the July 30 city polls, Awami League mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton won the polls bagging 165,096 votes while his rival Mosaddek got 77,700 votes.
