BNP senior leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday said their party will join the next general election after freeing their party chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.
“The situation during January-5, 2014 and the 2018’s December won’t be the same. We’ll join the next parliamentary polls under the leadership of a freed Khaleda Zia as BNP believes in democratic election,” he said.
The BNP leader came up with the remarks while speaking at a discussion arranged by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal at the Jatiya Press Club.
Mosharraf, a BNP standing committee member, said their party’s first responsibility is to have Khaleda freed from jail.
“Now we think it won’t be possible to free her through a legal battle. So, we don’t have any other alternative to taking to the streets to force the regime to release her,” he observed.
The BNP leader said they will forge a national unity foiling all the plots and evil efforts to ensure the current ‘autocratic’ government’s fall.
