BNP on Saturday paid last tribute to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq, who breathed his last at a London hospital on Thursday.
A BNP delegation headed by its standing committee member Mirza Abbas paid respect placing wreaths at the late DNCC Mayor’s coffin at Bangladesh Army Stadium.
BNP chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam, joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon, senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed, vice chairmen Abdullah Al Noman, Mohammad Shahjahan, Abudl Awal Mintoo and his son Tabibth Awal, among others, were also present there.
Earlier, a BNP delegation headed by its standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury went to Annisul’s Banani residence to console the family members.
“The city dwellers witnessed how a public representative should deal with different matters with courage through Annisul Huq’s activities,” Khasru said to the reporters.
Annisul, also a successful businessman and popular television programme host, breathed his last at the Wellington Hospital in London on Thursday.
Later on, a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carried the dead body at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:45pm on Saturday.
His namaz-e-janaja was held at Bangladesh Army Stadium after Asr prayers and after that he was buried around 5pm on Saturday.
