BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the comments made by Awami League senior leaders claiming the attack on BNP motorcade was due to internal feud in the party is “irrelevant”.
“These comments won’t be received by the Public. The media have actually identified who attacked and they reported it too,” Fakhrul said when he was visiting injured journalists at a hotel in Chittagong city.
“The government attempts to downplay or deny these situations specially in cases where it becomes apparent that they are involved. They attacked the media, they attacked madam, they attacked me – who else is left?”
Fakhrul alleged that the ruling party is indulging terrorists by making such comments.
Soon after BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade came was attacked in Feni, AL Organizing Secretary Enamul Hoque Shameem said the attack is an outcome of the party’s internal feud.
Meanwhile, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader blamed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for trying to create a volatile situation in the country in the name of relief distribution among Rohingyas.
