Anti-British movement leader Jasim Uddin Mondal passed away at a city hospital on Monday morning due to old age complications.
The veteran communist leader, 95, breathed his last at 6:00 am at Health and Hope Hospital at Panthapath in Dhaka.
He was admitted to the hospital on September 28, he said.
Comrade Jasim was later shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital at 8:47 pm on Sunday as his condition worsened.
Born in 1922, Jasim Uddin took part in the anti-British movement.
He joined the Communist Party in 1940.
