Ruling party Awami League has started selling nomination papers for the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated nomination form sales at party President Sheikh Hasina’s political office, in Dhanmondi, around 10:00 am on Friday.
He bought the Gopalganj 3 form for PM Sheikh Hasina.
This year, Awami League has increased the price of nomination papers from Tk25,000 to Tk30,000.
Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) KM Nurul Huda has set Dec 23 as the election day for the 11th parliamentary election in his address to the nation.
He announced the date while addressing the nation on Thursday evening.
As per the timetable announced by the CEC, candidates must file their nomination papers from Friday to November 19.
The returning officers will then scrutinize the nomination papers on November 22. November 29 is set as the final date for withdrawals.
