Ruling Awami League has vowed to continue the ongoing development works in the country if voted into power for the third consecutive term.
The ruling party made the pledge in its election manifesto for the upcoming national polls.
Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina unveiled Awami League’s 21-point election manifesto on Tuesday morning.
The incumbent Premier said that the party will undertake programmes to upgrade villages to cities if reelected for the third consecutive term.
“Electricity will reach every household, and all the villages will be connected to the district and upazila towns via concrete roads,” said Sheikh Hasina.
Mills and factories will be built in every district and upazilas to create employment and internet and information technology will reach everywhere, she said.
President of Awami League Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the election manifesto of the party for the upcoming national elections slated to be held on December 30.
The AL chief also pledged to take necessary steps to build Banganandhu-2 satellite and install 3rd submarine. She also promised to reduce the cost of internet and cell phone use.
The AL would take steps to flourish all future technologies including artificial intelligence, robotic, big data, block chain, IoT, she added.
The AL President pointed out her vision elaborately while unveiling her party’s electoral manifesto for the 11th National Parliamentary polls.
Sheikh Hasina, in the manifesto, said all the initiatives taken for the science and ICT sectors especially teachers training, establishment of laboratory, use of multimedia and expansion of internet connection would be updated and implemented rapidly to bloom the IT education at levels.
AL will continue to digitize the financial sector, she said, adding that steps will be taken to increase export earnings to $7.0 billion from the export of software, IT services and digital equipment.
The AL president, in the manifesto, declared the initiatives, which have already been taken in the tenure of present government for the growth of software industry and IT services, hi-tech park across the country.
In addition, all the assistance for out sourcing and software export would be continued, she mentioned.
Prime minister and president of Awami League, Sheikh Hasina has pledged to strengthen the parliament further in her party’s manifesto.
“In the last 10 years, our parliament was the centre of democracy. We will continue to bolster the process of institutionalising democracy,” she said.
Every citizen under one-year-old and above 65-year-old, will get free medical care if Awami League is voted to power, the party said in its manifesto.
Medical universities will be established in every divisional headquarters and the community clinics will gradually be modernised, it said.
Ruling Awami League has pledged to drive the country’s economy towards 10 per cent growth within the next five years if voted to power.
Party’s President Sheikh Hasina has pledged to transform Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021, and developed country by 2041.
She pledged, Bangladesh’s poverty rate would be pulled down to zero by 2041.
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said, if voted, her party will introduce modern bus services to curb indiscipline in Dhaka’s bus service.
