Bangladesh’s right-arm fast bowler Taskin Ahmed wants to be the highest wicket-taker for the Tigers in the upcoming South Africa tour.
Taskin had a long chat with Somoy News TV on Wednesday there he revealed this desire. Speed-star has also said that Bangladesh will be on the back-foot in the Test series because of the absence of Shakib Al Hasan.
He said, “The condition in South Africa is totally different but we have the ability to do well there. I want to be the highest wicket taker of the tour and this is my challenge.”
Taskin was selected in the squad for the recently concluded Test series against Australia but he couldn’t play a match there. However, he continued his hard-work during the series and worked a lot on his skills under the supervision of Courtney Walsh.
He thinks those sessions with Walsh during the series will help him against the Proteas. Right-arm fast bowler told Somoy News TV, “Last few days will help me a lot. During this time period, I have worked on my skills with Walsh.”
Taskin Ahmed concluded, “Team will miss Shakib Al Hasan in every sector but we have the ability to perform well without him. He plays more than anyone of us and he deserves this break. Hopefully, he’ll return soon.”
