Bangladesh have picked up their first win in the tri-nation series that too came in style.
The Tiger side have crushed Ireland by 8 wickets with 137-ball to spare and moved to the second spot in the table with six points. New Zealand are at the top with eight points playing one match less than Bangladesh.
Chasing a target of 182, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar made the perfect start with 95-run opening stand.
Tamim departed scoring 47. Sabbir came in the wicket and played some delighted shots before departing for 34(33).
But it was Soumya who never really gave a chance to the Irish to came back in the game. His quick fire 87* from 68 balls took the game away from Ireland.
Earlier, Bangladesh restricted the opposition to 181 thanks to four wickets by cutter master Mustafizur Rahman.
Mashrafe and debutant Sunzamul Islam took two wickets each while Shakib and Mosaddek one each.
Except for the fourth wicket partnership between Ed Joyce and Neil O’Brien that added 55-run, Ireland never looked threatening against Bangladesh bowlers.
Joyce scored 46-run, Neil 30 while Dockrell added 25-run at the end.
