Four people have been killed and another 10 injured after a bus with 30 people on board collided head-on with a truck on a Sylhet highway.
The incident was reported from Rashidpur Shatmail neighbourhood in South Surma Upazila of the eastern district which was experiencing extremely foggy weather in the morning.
Police sources said the accident occurred around 7am Monday, when the bus, with 30 people on board, was heading back to Sunamganj from the Biswa Ijtema (in Tongi). It slammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Abu Bakkar, 50, Akbar Ali, 50, and Abdul Gafur, 45 died on the spot.
Locals rushed the injured to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. Another victim died at the hospital.
