A number of leading Bangladesh actresses have moved full throttle ahead with establishing their foothold on the Tollywood industry. Now is the time for popular small screen and art-film actress Sohana Saba, who is all set to make her Tollywood debut on upcoming 3 June.
‘Shoro-ripu’, directed by debutant director Ayon Chakraborti, is the first film of Saba in Kolkata. Tollywood heartthrob Indranil is cast opposite the sensational actress in the film. The film also stars Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh, Rajatava Dutta, Sudiptaa Chakraborty, Koneenica Banerjee. In a recent interview with Daily Ittefaq, the actress opened up about her experience and expectations of this film.
The actress informed that this film will be solely produced by Kolkata, it will not be a joint production.
When asked how she managed to get cast in a film with such an excellent team, that also in her first attempt, the actress said that she believes her willpower played the biggest part behind that.
“Some of my works for the silver screen here were noticed by film critics in Kolkata, specially Kolkata director Aniket da. That gave me the space to work in the project. When I was approached to work get on in the team, I instantly thought, ‘I will only get on board if the standard of the film and my character are similar to my Dhallywood ventures.’ ”
Notably, the trailer suggests that Saba has a central role to the plot of the film.
The actress went on to shower the film with praises.
“I must say that this film contains an outstanding team, story, script, characters and presentation. This is a whole new experience for me, a film working out perfectly in every level.”
The music of the film has been scored by Dev Sen. The director earlier said, “The film is a representation of diverse themes that will make the audience look at the world around us in a new way. The music also syncs wonderfully with it.”
