Bangladeshi singer Shakila, 53, has tied the knot with Ravi Sharma, a Delhi based poet.
The singer got married in a small ceremony in Dhaka attended by close relatives and friends. The newlywed couple is starting their journey of married life in Dhaka.
While talking to the media, Shakila said, “I’ve known Ravi for a long time. And as I started to know him better with time, I found out that he is a good-hearted person. In addition to that, he’s an excellent poet. I was not committed to anyone and our mutual understanding is amazing. I guess that led us to discuss the idea of getting hitched. Everyone in my family is very fond of Ravi.”
Ravi Sharma is an accomplished CEO with a track record of leading India’s largest corporations in Power & Telecom industry. The poet is currently working for Comza Informage Pvt Ltd, cloudchowk and Hunger Inc. Recently in an album titled ‘Moonlights Whispers’ released by Times Music, prestigious Indian singers like Rekha Bhardwaj, Udit Narayan, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Javed Ali and Vivek Prakash gave voice to a song written by Ravi. He is associated with charity work as well.
Shakila was married once before to Zafar, an engineer. Her only son Mufrad Zafar completed his education from Australia and is now working in an advertising company. A few months ago Shakila, previously known as Shakila Zafar, announced that she did not want the name ‘Zafar’ latched to her anymore.
