Legendary showbiz duo Omor Sani and Mousumi have taken a necessary step to help the victims of the worsening flood situation in northern areas of Bangladesh.
The real life couple has recently announced their sympathy for the flood-affected people and decided to help them out.
On Friday night, Omor Sani came on Facebook Live and urged people to come out to support those affected in the floods.
The actor also revealed that they will not sacrifice any animals in the upcoming Eid al-Azha.
“Mousumi and I have decided to spend our Qurbani funds(Tk 1 lac) on those people in need,” Sani said in the heart-felt video.
The popular actor of the 90s’ went on to add, “Qurbani is a mean of sacrifice, to please almighty Allah with this gesture. For the last thirty years, I was the one to sacrifice our Qurbani animals with my bare hands. However, this Eid will definitely be an exception.”
“I don’t believe that sacrifice is only achieved by distributing the meat among people. We can show our faith towards this gesture in other meaningful ways as well,” expressed Sani.
Sani appealed all to help the flood victims and inspiring others to come forward. Urging the viewers to form a relief fund, the actor asked them to contribute.
Omor Sani concluded his video by recommending not to bring politics in this initiate.
Notably, for the unversed, heavy rains due to southwest monsoons have wreaked havoc in northern areas as more than 4 million people have become homeless as nearly one third of the country has gone under flood water.
On the work front, Omor Sani will be next seen in Bhalo Lagar Cheye Ektu Beshi, directed by Shohanur Rahman Shohan and co-starring Mousumi.
