A Rohingya man has been stabbed to death over an old feud by another refugee at the Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar.
The incident occurred on the BD-11 Block of Kutupalong’s Modhurchora around 1:30pm on Saturday, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Mumtaz Ullah, 45. Another Rohingya refugee, Arif Ullah, was detained over the incident.
The sources added that the two got into a fight over a previous feud from their time in Myanmar and Mumtaz Ullah was injured in the tussle.
He was later taken to IOM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Stab wounds were found on his body.
According to police, Mumtaz Ullah was involved in the death of one of Arif Ullah’s brothers when they lived in Myanmar. The two fled Myanmar and eventually took refuge in the Kutupalong camp. The fight between them broke out over this.
