Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Magura on Tuesday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of 28 development projects aimed at ensuring further socioeconomic development of the district.
After chairing the weekly Ecnec meeting to be held at the NEC conference room in Dhaka, the Prime Minister will fly from the Tejgaon Old Airport by a helicopter and land at Magura Govt Boys’ School ground around 1:05pm, said officials at the Prime Minister’s Office.
She will address a mammoth public rally to be organised by district Awami League at the Freedom Fighter Asaduzzaman Stadium.
PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Mamun-Or-Rashid said before addressing the rally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 19 projects and lay the foundation stones of nine others involving around Tk 310 crore from the rally venue unveiling the digital plaques.
The projects to be inaugurated are Magura Technical Training Centre, Muktijoddha Complex Building, Magura 250-bed Hospital; Fire Service and Civil Defence stations in Sripur upazila and Mohammadpur upazilas, 100.10 metre bridge over the Fotki River from Moghi UP Complex to Andolbaria road in Sadar upazila, some 9.71km road from Katakhali GC to Ichakhada R&H in Sadar upazila, Natun Bazar Bridge on Magura-Sripur road, Magura deep water treatment plant with a capacity of treating 350 cubic metre water per hour, Freedom Fighter Asaduzzaman Stadium, administrative building of Government Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Regional Duck Breeding Farm, administrative building and guesthouse, district Awami League office, upgrading Sripur upazila health complex to 50-bed one, upgrading Shalikha upazila health complex to 50-bed hospital, Magura Textile Mills, Arpara Women and Children Welfare Centre, Shalikha and Magura Polytechnic Institute.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones of Regional Passport Office, 96-metre bridge on the Fotki River from Bunagati to Beroilpalita in Shalikha upazila, 66-metre bridge on Boroichara Atirbhita-Boroichara Bazar road in Shalikha upazila, 96-metre bridge over the Chitra River on Baulia-Shorshuna road in Shalikha upazila, Upgrading Magura district town portion of National Highway (N-7) to four-lane one, Third City Operations and Infrastructure Development Project (2nd phase) of Magura Pourashava, Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centre (hi-tech park), Sripur upazila mini stadium and Shalikha upazila mini stadium.
