The minister for home affairs, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the accused involved in Banani rape case will be punished if they are proven to be guilty.
“Everyone involved will face justice no matter which influential class they belongs to,” he added.
The minister said those after inaugurating a Women’s Holiday Market of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) at the Kitchen Market in Mahakhali.
The minister said Law enforcers are aware of the insincerity of the Raintree Hotel management.
Mentioning women’s market would help women to march ahead, he said, “No development is possible until we ensure security of businessmen and women.”
Arranged by the organisation “For The Women, By The Women” and DNCC, the program was presided by mayor Annisul Huq.
Two university students came forth last month with allegations of rape against five.
They alleged that they were raped at The Raintree Hotel in Dhaka’s Banani area on March 28 as they went there to attend the birthday party of one of the main accused Safat Ahmed.
Safat’s friend Shadman Sakif, the son of Regman Group co-owner Mohammad Hossain Jony, Safat’s driver ‘Billal’ , bodyguard Rahmat Ali and Nayem Ashraf.
