A two-day long ‘National Performance Art Festival 2017’ started at Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy (BSA) on Friday.
The festival is organized by People’s Theatre Association (PTA) and BSA jointly. It will be held at eight spots of the academy where 12 artists and a troupe are performing from 3pm to 8pm on Friday and Saturday.
The festival was inaugurated by eminent artist Mustafa Monwar on the premises of National Music and Dance Department while Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique was present as the chief guest.
Noted artist Kalidas Karmakar was given the Lifetime Achievement Award while artist Mahbubur Rahman given ‘Performance Art Honorary Award 2017’ at the opening ceremony.
