Lawmaker from ruling Awami League, Abdur Rahman Bodi secured bail on Monday upon surrendering in a case filed over concealing wealth statement in 2007.
He was granted bail by Divisional Senior Special Judge Ruhul Amin after Bodi appeared before the court and requested for bail, according to reports.
The case, filed in 2007 by then Anti-Corruption Commission’s deputy director Abul Kalam Azad, said Bodi had concealed Tk 56 lakh wealth in a statement.
Case statements said, Bodi – then a municipality chairman and now a lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf – had illegally accumulated over Tk 79 lakh.
Bodi was charged in this case on June 26, 2008.
