Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Qauder has suggested BNP to prepare for next election and end the movements for the release of its chairperson Khaleda Zia as it will not bring any results.
“Movements will not bring any result. BNP should prepare for the next general election,” he said.
The general secretary of the ruling Awami League said those while taking to reporters during a visit to the four-lane Dhaka-Tangail Highway to see its ongoing works on Saturday.
“BNP thought people would wage a tough movement to free Khaleda. But their dream went unfulfilled,” he said.
The AL leader also said BNP has to fight legally as the government has nothing to do with the release of Khaleda Zia.
Addressing BNP’s chances to join the poll, the AL leader said, “As a registered political party, it has the right to take part in the election.”
