BNP leader Moudud Ahmed has opined that BNP must take part in the next general election no matter what the situation is.
The BNP Standing Committee Member made the statement while talking at a discussion programme organised by Swadhinata Forum at National Press Club in Dhaka on Friday noon.
“No matter whatever adverse situation is created and repression is launched on us, we must participate in the upcoming polls,” Moudud said.
The BNP senior leader also claimed that no national election will take place in the country without BNP.
“The government will be forced to compromise accepting the demands for holding the next general election under a supportive government,” said the former law minister.
Talking about the attack on the motorcade of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Moudud said that it was the ruling party men who staged the “heinous” attack.
Claiming that BNP’s progress is unstoppable, he said, “Our party chief Khaleda Zia will come out to the streets again to carry out political programmes across the country defying such adverse situation.”
