After Bangladesh Cricket League 2013-14, Mashrafe has again started to play longer format cricket with the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL).
He has been playing for Khulna Division and survived successfully in the first match of them. He took 3 wickets in the 2nd winnings of the match although the match was resulted in a draw at the end.
However, the ODI captain of Bangladesh who last played for Bangladesh Test team in 2009, is much happy with his performance in the opening fixture. While talking to Prothom Alo on Monday, he has revealed this.
Inspirational captain of Bangladesh said, “I am playing in this NCL to become fit for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. So far, I am happy with my performance. Hopefully, I’ll also play in the next game too.”
He added, “I was in the field for whole 90 overs in the first day. Ability to survive in such a hot condition has surely encouraged me. I tried to bowl in accurate line and length although I bowled 4 no balls.”
Later on, Mashrafe also talked about the Test team who are currently in South Africa for two-test series. Captain fantastic thinks the pace attack of South Africa is dangerous and they can challenge any batsman in any condition.
Right-handed pace bowler said, “In South Africa, the main challenge for us will be facing their pace bowlers perfectly. We have some quality batsmen in our Test squad who have that ability. We scored 600 against New Zealand in Wellington although Shakib is not there who double hundred in that match.”
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza concluded, “But there are enough skilled batsmen in our side and we have to take 20 wickets to win Test although I don’t want to predict so early. Most of our players will play in South Africa for the first time and so we shouldn’t create more pressure on them. I just want to see good cricket from our team.”
