Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy, who suffered a brain haemorrhage and now undergoing treatment at Dhaka’s Labaid Hospital, is doing better today.
Meanwhile, the doctors conducted a CT scan and MRI on Ivy this morning and said a medical board will be formed to analyse the reports based on which the medical board will decide how long the mayor will need to stay at the hospital.
Ivy was taken to the hospital on Thursday two days after she and 50 others were injured as supporters of local Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman attacked her along with the followers over eviction of street hawkers, leading to a fierce clash in Narayanganj’s Chashara area.
After doctors conducted a CT scan on her on Thursday, it was found that she had suffered brain haemorrhage.
On Wednesday, Ivy said she would take legal steps against the attackers.
But she suddenly fell ill the following day, and was brought to the Labaid Hospital from Narayanganj.
