322 people died while being on their journeys during Eid-ul-Azha, traveller advocate group Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity stated in a report.
According to its statistics, 214 road accidents that occurred over the period. 254 were killed and another 696 were injured in these accidents.
25 died and 63 were injured in boat accidents and 43 died in train accidents
The report was presented by Jatri Kalyan Samity General Secretary Mozzammel Haque Chowdhury at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on Wednesday.
It compiled reports of accidents for 13 days before and after Eid to come to the conclusion, he said.
The report compiles data taken from Aug 28 to Sept 9.
Eid journeys towards hometowns were relatively safe this Eid as it was handled in many stages. However, there were more casualties during the return trips, Mozzammel said.
