Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has warned BNP that boycotting the national election for two terms in a row might result in the party losing their registration.
Obaidul Quader made the statement while talking to reporters after offering Sura Fateha at the grave of Advocate Momin Ullah, former general secretary of district Awami League, on Friday.
Stating that participation in the election is BNP’s democratic right, Quader also underlined that the government will not call anyone to the polls.
Mentioning that the election will be held as per the Constitution, he said the government will only assist the Election Commission.
“All concerned will be under the EC during the election. The government will only carry out its routine work,” said Quader, also the General Secretary of ruling Awami League.
The ruling party leader also urged the local party leaders to stay away from the anti-party activities, warning that a list of those are creating anarchy is being prepared.
