State Minister for Foreign Affairs, M Shahriar Alam, has informed people about the Bangladesh Embassy’s Emergency Hotline number in his official Facebook page, moments after news of the US-Bangla Airlines plane crash in Kathmandu broke out.
He said that embassy officials are not present in both the airport and hospitals. He posted that the embassy can be reached at +9779810100401 (Md Al Alamul Emam, Consular, Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal), +9779861467422 (Asit Baran Sarker).
He urged everyone to be patient to get the exact news.
Nepal police said in a press meet that 38 people were confirmed dead, while 23 were injured in the accident. Other than that, 10 people are currently unaccounted for and there are no traces of them.
Around 50 passengers are feared dead as US-Bangla Biman aircraft crash landed in Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu on Monday. Airport security sources said about half a dozen passengers who were rescued in ‘critical condition’ have been sent to the hospital , while there were many ‘bodies’ lying in charred condition.
There were 67 passengers in the plane, of them 47 were Bangladeshi nationals, 19 Nepalese and 1 Chinese. There were 4 flight crew alongside the passengers.
Captain Abib was leading the contingent along with co-pilot Prithula. Khwaja and Nabila were the flight crews in the flight.
