To ensure the immediate unconditional release of their chief Khaleda Zia, BNP led 20-party alliance will jointly start the movement to pressurize on the government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said: “The 20-party alliance leaders expressed solidarity to our programme to ensure the release of Khaleda Zia. They will participate in the programme actively to meet the demand,”
He was talking to the press at a press conference held after a meeting with leaders of the 20-party alliance at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in Dhaka this evening.
BNP plunged into the setbacks now as the chief of the party in jail after 8 February 8 verdict.
Replying to a question about the attributed top order of BNP, Fakhrul said, “I am serving my duties as the coordinator.”
Senior Vice Chairman of the party Tarique Rahman joined the meeting over phone, he said.
The BNP leader also added that the alliance leaders will talk to more like-minded political parties to widen the range of the incumbent alliance and strengthen the movement.
