Police have cordoned off two alleged militant dens in Akbar Shah and Kattoli areas of Chittagong city.
Acting on a tip-off, police cordoned off a house no. 40/41 in Akbar Shah area around 4:00pm.
Another house in Kattoli area under Pahartali Police Station has been cordoned off following similar intel.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police led by Faizur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Double Mooring zone, conducted a raid at the four-storey building named MMH Nibas in the area.
The raid is being conducted following confessional statements given by the suspected militants who were detained in an anti-militancy drive in Sitakunda earlier, the AC said.
We conducted the one and a half-hour long search inside the building but did not find out any substance of threat,” the AC said after the raid.
Meanwhile, another house in Kattoli area under Pahartali Police Station is cordoned off following similar information, Nazmul Hassan, additional deputy commissioner (west) of Chittagong division said.
